Nations Capital is a boutique financial advisory services and private equity investment holding firm that was established in 2001 with the express aim of promoting Investment Banking amongst black professionals and servicing a client base whose demographics were fastly changing in line with the business demographics of the country in a post apartheid South Africa. Nations Capital is 100% black owned and managed.

Nations Capital is 100% black owned and managed.

Our team of highly qualified and experienced professionals boast a total combined experience in financial services that is in excess of 55 years with an impeccable track record in the fields of Corporate Finance and Financial Advisory Services over the past 12 years or so, that includes servicing clients such as Eskom, City of Joburg, National Department of Public Enterprises as well as Black Empowerment (BEE) Groups such as Ngululu Bulk Carriers, AWCA Investment Holdings and Amka Group amongst others.

Nations ability to unpack an investment opportunity, analyse and package it to suite the various funding institutions that it has strong relationships with, sets it apart from its competitors whilst speed of execution is a significant competitive advantage.

Our Team

Lwazi Koyana

Managing Director | CA (SA)

Lwazi is a qualified Chartered Accountant with some 20 years of experience in the investment management and Corporate Finance fields. He has overseen almost all of the R8bn worth of transactions that Nations Capital Advisors has been involved with, either as Lead Advisor or Co-Advisor with an Alliance Partner. A key strength of Lwazi’s is in Financial Structuring and Transaction Management.

Lwazi began his career as an articled clerk with Coopers & Lybrand and upon qualifying as CA in 1994, began his investments career as an Investment Analyst with Syfrets Managed Assets in Cape Town. Whilst at Syfrets, Lwazi worked very closely with the Chief Investment Officer in the management of the country’s first socially responsible unit trust the Community Growth Fund. 

His investments career saw him establish Infinity Asset Management. As Managing Director of Infinity, he was responsible for Investment Marketing, as well as Consumer Research in the beverages, retail, and food sectors. Lwazi was responsible for growing assets under management from zero to R4 Billion when the business was sold in 2001, less than four years since establishment. Recently, Lwazi joined Dogon Group Properties to assist with Corporate Governance and is working in conjunction with his wife Sindi, to establish and develop the South African BEE Real Estate Academy.
